We had a great time at KBC hanging with cousin's. The kids had a lot of fun and were
worn out every day (my master plan). Here are a few pictures of our activities
through out the week. I missed taking pictures in the pool which we did every day.
Asher learned to jump off the diving board on the count of 1, and Ben used a
floatie to be in the big pool :)
Cousin's colored, wrestled, played and built together-it was a real fun week.
Joe did a great job speaking and had fun as well. Three young women
accepted the Lord which was so encouraging-Praise the Lord!
It was great to be able to serve the Lord and spend time with family.

Happy Birthday to Joe

Alex, Daniella & Thomas

Heather, Todd & Francis

Happy Birthday to my wondeful husband who turned 26 today. We had a few
people over or dinner and birthday pie. Joe didn't want any one who came
to know it was his birthday-he called it a reverse surprise party :)
We had his favorite, biscuits n gravy, grits, over easy eggs and sweet tea.
(we sound like a southern family)
For dessert we had peanut butter Reeses ice cream pie and
chocolate mirange pie. Then we all played Trivial Pursuit :)
He loved all of it, including his hand colored puzzle from Benny and his
Andy McKee CD.
Love you Babe! I am so glad I can celebrate your birthday with you!
You are a wonderful gift to me.

Daddies are so fun

A couple of weeks ago Joe made tents for the boys in their bunk beds.
The boys loved it, and enjoyed sleeping in their new tent beds all night.
I am so blessed that Joe plays such an active and vital role in the boys lives.
They just adore him and the time they all spend together is so precious.
I love that man! and those boys!

Update

Yesterday May 20, at 11:28 a.m.

My nephew

Gibeon David Johnson
was delivered into the world

he was 1 lb 7 oz, 6 inches long

Parents of Elizabeth and David Johnson

He is now in the arms of the Lord.

Gibeon was delivered with his umbilical cord wrapped tightly around his neck.
The doctors think he died 2-3 weeks ago.

Please pray for Elizabeth and David.
They told the boys yesterday about the Gibeon, and Elizabeth is being released from the hospital this afternoon.
Please pray for their continued strength and encouragement from the Lord as well as their emotional support.

I think it's funny

I went to Kansas Citytoday to pick up a Black and Blue Travel System (stroller, carseat and base) off Craigslist, after much search and skeptisism from Joe. I had shown it to Joe he said it looked nice and I was happy with the price.
The stroller has hardly any wear, it is very clean, very light and maneuvers extremely well. But to my surprise when the gentlemen pulled it out of the garage to put in my car it was not blue and black it is purple and black. I almost laughed out loud in his face.
So here is my dilemma, do I keep this System? Do I try to resell it?
Would you put your son in a black and purple car seat and stroller?
Do I say it is a K-State Travel System?
Joe does not really care at all mostly he says I can't have another because all this searching has been such a hassle. And he has not said weither or not he would care if boy #3 could use a black purple car seat.
But to be honest I think it is really funny. When I told Joe about it I could hardly keep from peeing because I just think it is so funny that it is purple. Because, this has been such a big ordeal to find, ask about and go get-says Joe. So all in all, I think=funny.

Gotta say Goodbye

farm house,
6 bedrooms 2 dining rooms,
living room, kitchen, playroom
summer porch and 2 full baths

I used to mow that
The barn where the
trampoline resided

This weekend my family and I have the hard job of saying goodbye to our family farm. My great grandfather owned and lived here, my grandfather lived and worked here and my father and our family lived and worked here.
I have been trying to rationalize and keep things calm in my head about the facts but this afternoon as we are getting ready to drive to Iowa to pack years of history and memories, emotions are starting to take over. I always thought Benny and Asher would get to come and play at Poppy's farm and experience what I loved about it. Build hay forts, jump in the creek and climb trees but only the Lord really knows what is in store. And I know that this earthly place is not my home, but it was an amazing place to grow up.
I am very thankful to many of you for your thoughts and prayers for us. I think maybe writing some of it down might help me and asking for more prayer to help sustain my family. I know that all of my family is feeling this loss but no one more than my dad. If you would lift him up in prayer I would appreciate it. Talking to my sister today and she said he is worn down, tired and feeling defeated. Please pray for his encouragement and wisdom. And I would ask prayer that I will not wear myself out physically and emotionally.
I am encouraged in the Lord knowing this His ways are no mine and that His thoughts for His children are so many they could never be counted or comprehended.
