Update

Yesterday May 20, at 11:28 a.m.

My nephew

Gibeon David Johnson
was delivered into the world

he was 1 lb 7 oz, 6 inches long

Parents of Elizabeth and David Johnson

He is now in the arms of the Lord.

Gibeon was delivered with his umbilical cord wrapped tightly around his neck.
The doctors think he died 2-3 weeks ago.

Please pray for Elizabeth and David.
They told the boys yesterday about the Gibeon, and Elizabeth is being released from the hospital this afternoon.
Please pray for their continued strength and encouragement from the Lord as well as their emotional support.

I think it's funny

I went to Kansas Citytoday to pick up a Black and Blue Travel System (stroller, carseat and base) off Craigslist, after much search and skeptisism from Joe. I had shown it to Joe he said it looked nice and I was happy with the price.
The stroller has hardly any wear, it is very clean, very light and maneuvers extremely well. But to my surprise when the gentlemen pulled it out of the garage to put in my car it was not blue and black it is purple and black. I almost laughed out loud in his face.
So here is my dilemma, do I keep this System? Do I try to resell it?
Would you put your son in a black and purple car seat and stroller?
Do I say it is a K-State Travel System?
Joe does not really care at all mostly he says I can't have another because all this searching has been such a hassle. And he has not said weither or not he would care if boy #3 could use a black purple car seat.
But to be honest I think it is really funny. When I told Joe about it I could hardly keep from peeing because I just think it is so funny that it is purple. Because, this has been such a big ordeal to find, ask about and go get-says Joe. So all in all, I think=funny.

Gotta say Goodbye

farm house,
6 bedrooms 2 dining rooms,
living room, kitchen, playroom
summer porch and 2 full baths

Silo's
I used to mow that
The barn where the
trampoline resided

This weekend my family and I have the hard job of saying goodbye to our family farm. My great grandfather owned and lived here, my grandfather lived and worked here and my father and our family lived and worked here.
I have been trying to rationalize and keep things calm in my head about the facts but this afternoon as we are getting ready to drive to Iowa to pack years of history and memories, emotions are starting to take over. I always thought Benny and Asher would get to come and play at Poppy's farm and experience what I loved about it. Build hay forts, jump in the creek and climb trees but only the Lord really knows what is in store. And I know that this earthly place is not my home, but it was an amazing place to grow up.
I am very thankful to many of you for your thoughts and prayers for us. I think maybe writing some of it down might help me and asking for more prayer to help sustain my family. I know that all of my family is feeling this loss but no one more than my dad. If you would lift him up in prayer I would appreciate it. Talking to my sister today and she said he is worn down, tired and feeling defeated. Please pray for his encouragement and wisdom. And I would ask prayer that I will not wear myself out physically and emotionally.
I am encouraged in the Lord knowing this His ways are no mine and that His thoughts for His children are so many they could never be counted or comprehended.

Perfect Peace

Peace, perfect Peace, in this dark world of sin? The blood of Jesus whispers peace within.

Peace, perfect Peace, by thronging duties presses. To do the will of Jesus this is rest.

Peace, perfect Peace, with sorrow surging round? On Jesus' bosom naught but calm is found.

Peace, perfect Peace, with loved ones far away? In Jesus' keeping we are safe and they.

Peace, perfect Peace, our future all unknown? Jesus we know, and He is on the throne.

I have found myself singing this song a lot today. Probably because Peace is not how my day or house is feeling. Lots of crying, meltdowns and discipline are going on here.
I love the third verse of this Hymn. "On Jesus' bosom naught but calm is found." It is reassuring to know that in the Lord calm can be found even in the most chaotic of days and tantrums of children.

My Sweet Lu Lu

My niece Felicity aka LuLu came and stayed with us for two weeks in July. She was able to be at Camp Enosh with and had a great time. We were so glad she was able to hear such great teaching about the Lord. She told me she had a lot of fun and was learning stuff she didn't know about in the Bible. :) (That right there makes it all worth it for me. )
The boys just love her, and she loves them just as much! Asher went around the house yelling "WuWu, where are wu?" And Ben could spend hours playing with his fun fun cousin she was great entertainment for the boys :)
We are looking forward to having her come again!

Catch Up Time

Giving brother some pointers

Rebekah, Daniel & Asher

Cuddle time

The cutest outfit ever!

Happy 4th of July

I was sitting down reading blogs the other day and realized that I am way behind on updating. So, here is the short of it. We were at Turkey Hill the first week of July, Joe directed and we all had an amazing time. The boys golfed 2-3x's a day. It was there favorite thing to do with daddy. We also got in some horse back riding, fishing and only one trip to the pool-Praises! Because I burned the first day and didn't want to go back :)
We happily returned and had a July 4th party out at the Young's and fellowshipped a bit. And then went to church on Sunday and dressed Benny in the cutest outfit ever-seriously check out the picture you can't argue with that. Now with family in town we are preparing for Camp Enosh next week and hopefully I will be diligent in posting :) he he he.. (nervous laughter)

New Family Member???

Meet Sprinkles, Sparkels, and Dorothy.
Ben has been asking us for weeks if he could have pets so like all good parents we caved. This last Saturday Joe took the boys for a doughnut drive ( my sleep in day:) and then to WalMart where he bought Benny three goldfish, he is such a fun dad. And yes, Benny named them all by himself. But sadly Dorothy only made it till Monday afternoon and we found her floating on the rocks dead :( Ben still has not noticed so Joe plans to get a new Dorothy-they only cost 25 cents.
But overall they are very good pets and Ben loves feeding them everyday. Maybe someday we will upgrade to a dog, and not name it Dorothy.

Family Weekend

The lone fish of the trip

Little Fisherman
Don't drop it!
Daddy and Asher
Mommy and Benny on the tree swing
This last weekend Joe's band had a retreat at Living Water Ranch in Manhattan, so we took advantage of the weekend and had a lot of family time. We took Ben fishing, he got a brand new "Cars, Lighting McQueen" fishing pole and tried to catch fish. Mostly he tied himself up in the fishing line, tried to fish with daddy's pole and even threw his new pole in the lake. But he had such a great time. He kept talking to the bait: "Hi, worm how are you? or Hi fish, hi." Joe and I have decided that next time Ben "fishes" we will not. :)
All in all it was a relaxing and fun time. We took walks, swung on a huge tree swing, walked on the beach at the lake as well as went fishing. It was just so nice to be out in nature and enjoy God's creation. And invest time in our family. We highly recommend a family fishing weekend if you (the parent) don't mind not fishing the whole weekend.

Fun with Cousins

Garrison, Gabriel and Ben
Asher with Aunt Elizabeth and cousins
Asher and Keke
Garrison, Gabriel, Christian and Ben making their own fun in the pack and play

Last week Joe was on a business trip in Wichita so the boys and I had dinner at "cousins' house." Ben loves playing at Elizabeth and DJ's. After dinner we all just sat and watched the boys play it was a crazy time but everyone had fun. Ben always enjoys time spent with his cousins and he asks almost daily to, "go see cousins." It is such a blessing to have family live only a few block away.

He Is Risen! He Is Risen Indeed!

Remembering the death and resurrection of our Savior this Easter. (2007)
